Care tips

Watering

Water only every few weeks. Let the soil dry out fully between drinks. The pearls store water and shrivel when it runs low.

Light

Give it bright, indirect light. Too little light makes the strands thin and gappy. Soften hot midday sun.

Feeding and repotting

Feed rarely, at half strength a few times in the growing season. Use a shallow pot with gritty cactus soil. Repot only when needed.

Watch out for

Wet soil makes the stems rot fast. Flat or wrinkled pearls mean thirst. Plump, mushy pearls mean too much water.
